Calvors Brewery, situated in Ipswich, Suffolk, are a young award-winning craft lager microbrewery. The brewery are aiming for high growth in 2012 and as a result are looking to recruit a full-time brewer to look after all aspects of the beer production.

The company are looking for an individual who is willing and able to take on an extensive role and ultimately be responsible for the day-to-day running of the brewery.

The ideal candidate will have brewing qualifications but MUST also:

• Have a passion for real beer
• Possess excellent standards and attention to detail
• Be self-motivated, customer focused and have good practical abilities (essential)
• Demonstrate a capability to work on their own initiative, but to also be a team player
• Be time flexible and able to work early/late shifts and some weekends
• Show confidence, reliability and responsibility
• Be prepared to work on a wide range of jobs
• Good numeracy and literacy skills

Please be aware that this is not a desk job and requires good physical fitness.

PROCESS BREWER

Hepworth Brewery brews and packages its own beers and for many other companies, which includes customers such as Marks and Spencer. This requires precision high quality preparation.

The position entails the physical and technical work involved in preparing beer for packaging. It would suit a qualified brewer looking to get experience in brewing and processing a range of beer styles in different forms of packaging. Training will be provided.

ASSISTANT BREWER

Perched high on the northern slopes of the Malvern Hills, Malvern Hills Brewery is probably the highest brewery in England, at over 600 feet above sea level. Brewer and owner, Julian Hawthornthwaite, is proud to craft imaginative, award-winning and distinctive beers using hops sourced from a local hop merchant.

The brewery are now seeking an Assistant Brewer to join the brewery with immediate effect. Training will be provided although knowledge of chemistry would be an advantage. The applicant must hold a full driving licence.

Salary is £16,000 per annum with standard holidays and private health cover.

HEAD BREWER

Red Squirrel brewery, established in 2004, is an award-winning brewery, based in the South-East of England in close proximity to London. The brewery has recently picked up a coveted major award and has plans in place to further expand the brewery infrastructure to cope with the ever increasing demand for their award winning ales. Red Squirrel pride themselves on being an innovative brewer in terms of branding and styles of ale and, as a result, are now looking for a forward thinking experienced brewer to join the company that is capable of innovation and creativity.

Reporting to the director of brewing and the other directors in general, the successful candidate must be qualified to a degree standard, preferably in microbiology/chemistry with an interest in marketing and must have excellent interpersonal and man-management skills as the role will require the mentoring and development of brewery staff. In terms of experience the potential candidate must be able to demonstrate good progressive experience to date and be looking for the next step in their career. The role in question would suit an assistant brewer or head brewer who is looking for a more challenging long-term role.

Remuneration and incentives will be dependent on the candidate's experience and skill set.

HEAD BREWER
